Profil

Indonesia as a developing country is currently carrying out both physical and non-physical developments. One of the requirements for physical development must be to ensure safety, security, comfort and environmental sustainability. This requires qualified human resources, one of which is Professional Engineers.

On the other hand, in the era of globalization with the ratification of bilateral and multilateral cooperation such as AFTA, CAFTA and MEA, it is possible for engineers to work across national borders with certain conditions. To enter the territory of ASEAN countries, engineers must have a National Registered Engineer (NRE) certificate recognized by their respective countries, an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE), and a Registered Foreign Professional Engineer (RFPE) based on a reciprocal agreement regarding engineering services at ASEAN, namely ASEAN Mutual Recognition.

The Professional Engineer Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta was established in order to carry out the mandate of Law No. 11 of 2014 concerning engineering and the mandate given by the Institutional Directorate of Science, Technology and Higher Education No. 673 / CC4 / KL / 2016 concerning the Assignment of the Professional Engineer Study Program at Yogyakarta State University which was continued with an operational permit No. 217 / KPT / I / 2017. PSPPI UNY aims to meet the needs of a professional workforce in supporting national development and the challenges of globalization of the workforce in Southeast Asia, Asia Pacific and the world towards the needs of Indonesian engineers who are independent, responsible and have professional ethics and qualifications according to certification standards.
